  Q: How can I add my photos to the Alumni web site?

I would like to 

A: Personal photos that are not related to any Joshua School Event but are related to you and your family can be uploaded to your personal page by going through the Alumni or Employee sections, locating your information by year, by name, and then use the options box to ADD a photo.

Photos related to a specific Joshua School Event should be uploaded to the Events section for the specific event. If the Event has not been added, it needs to be added and approved, then you can upload the photos to the page for the specific Event.

  Q: How can I scan my photos?

I would like to 

A: For print photos that are 8.5 x 11 inches or smaller a home scanner works well. Make sure to scan the pictures to jpeg format with at least 300 dpi (dots per inch) with zero compression for decent results. If you do not have a scanner or know someone that can let you use their scanner, plenty of local retail and pharmacy establishments which have photo departments have decent scanners. If you use one of the local businesses for scanning photos, ask the person on duty for assistance with scanning your photos to a CD of photos.

  Q: How can I add my Yearbooks, Programs or other multiple page documents?

I would like to 

A: Those of us working on this web site can scan your multiple page items if you do not have access to a scanner. Use the Contact Us form listed below to let us know what you have available.

  Q: I have Joshua items I no longer want?

I would like to 

A: Any Joshua School items that you no longer want can be donated to the JHS Alumni Association. Use the Contact Us form at the bottom of this page to let us know what you have available.

  Q: How can I add my own videos?

I would like to 

A: If your videos relate to specific Joshua School Events, use the Contact Us form at the bottom of this page to let us know what you have available. If the videos are home movies and not related to the school, you can add them to your personal page in either the Alumni or Employee sections.

  Q: What items does the JHS Alumni Association want to add to the site?

I would like to 

A: We are looking for the following Joshua school related items:

1.) PHOTOS (people, groups, clubs, organizations, schools, stadiums, and events)

2.) VIDEOS (both professional and home movies of Events, Alumni and Employees)

3.) YEARBOOKS (all from all Joshua schools)

4.) SCHOOL NEWSPAPERS (all)

5.) PROGRAMS (all)

6.) MEMORABILIA (all types of memorabilia including ribbons, mini footballs, buttons, trophies, clothing items, game used items, flyers, stuffed animals, stickers, etc.)

  Q: Can I advertise my business products or services on this site?

I would like to 

A: The only advertising allowed on the JHS Alumni Association web site is advertisements in yearbooks, in programs, on mini footballs, on posters distributed throughout the community, etc.

If you want your ad seen on this web site, support the students by advertising through the school and your ads will appear when the yearbooks, programs, etc are added to this web site.

This web site is funded by donations only.

  Q: What if I see something inappropriate on the web site?

I would like to 

A: You can either use the FLAG option that is in the options box on almost all pages or you can use the Contact Us form at the bottom of this page. Please be as specific as possible and list the section and as much details as possible when flagging an item through the Contact Us form.

  Q: What if I a section of the web site is not working?

I would like to 

A: Use the Contact Us form at the bottom of this page or send an email to webmaster@joshuaowlsonline.com to let us know what type of problem you are experiencing with the web site.

  Q: If I loan items to be scanned will they be returned?

I would like to 

A: All items will be returned. The return time is dependent on many factors- how many items we have to scan, current work schedules, etc.

  Q: Does the school know about this web site?

I would like to 

A: The school is aware of this web site.

Employees, Coaches, etc have requested a delay on some items (delaying high quality sporting event videos to protect the playbooks of the teams and delaying yearbooks to ensure they are still purchased).

  Q: Can I help with this web site?

I would like to 

A: We need help in the following ways:

1.) scanning items

2.) photographing items

3.) cropping, rotating, editing, compressing images

4.) converting videos from VHS to DVD and also from DVD to Internet files for uploading to the web site

5.) contacting alumni/family members and former employees to locate items and information

6.) data entry for the different web site sections

7.) we need more blank dvds and dvd slim jewel cases

  Q: Can I nominate a Hall of Famer?

I would like to 

A: Ofcourse. Use the Contact Us form below to submit your nominations. Nominations are considered throughout the year and Hall of Fame Inductees are announced at the Annual JHS Alumni Reception held usually the same weekend as Homecoming at JHS.

  Q: Can I purchase yearbooks, photos, etc?

I would like to 

A: No items are for sale on the JHS Alumni Association web site.
